So, what is it exactly?

DiSC® is the leading personal assessment tool used by over one million people every year to improve work productivity, teamwork and communication. The DiSC® model provides a common language that people can use to better understand themselves and adapt their behaviours with others.

DiSC profiles can help you and your team:

• Increase your self-knowledge: how you respond to conflict, what motivates you, what causes you stress and how you solve problems
• Improve working relationships by recognizing the communication needs of team members
• Facilitate better teamwork and teach productive conflict
• Develop stronger sales skills by identifying and responding to customer styles
• Manage more effectively by understanding the dispositions and priorities of employees and team members
• Become more self-knowledgeable, well-rounded and effective leaders

At HR Staff n’ Stuff we actively use three different DiSC products for different situations. Here’s an outline of what we do and when we do it:

DiSC Workplace

You can set this workshop up to run for either the whole business or just one group or department. DiSC workplace profiles provide information to each individual about their own style and the workshop focuses on learning about all of the different styles and how to work more effectively with others. This is particularly valuable when there is disconnect in a group or where there is a belief that the team could enhance performance by taking it to the next level. You can use these profiles for 1:1 coaching and to assist in mediating conflict between 2 or more people who need to work together better.

However, DiSC Workplace can be run as a ‘public’ session where individual contributors from different businesses come together to learn about their own style and that of others. The benefits of collaborating and learning in an environment where colleagues are not present can have some additional advantages as individuals may feel less constrained in what they share about themselves or questions they may ask further assisting their learning and application of DiSC workplace profiles.

DiSC Management

A fantastic tool for leaders to understand their natural management style, and how to adapt to suit the different members of their team to get the most out of them. The DiSC management program always results in more effective leadership in business, resulting in more engaged and productive team members. They are understood! We run DiSC management programs inside businesses for leadership teams, and also run occasional public sessions where leaders from all different companies come together. You can also use DiSC Management as a 1:1 management coaching tool.

DiSC Sales

This one is a super powerful tool to help salespeople understand their natural selling style and how to easily people-read their customers to determine their customers’ style, and then how to adapt their selling style to close more sales! We really love this one because we see an immediate improvement in sales achievement once salespeople really use their newfound knowledge to make a difference. Post this workshop, participants have unlimited access to a tool where they can answer some questions about their customer and the program will tell them what the customers likely style is, and how to close the sale with them! Really wonderful stuff!

DiSC Sales can be completed as an internal workshop inside a business or people can attend public sessions that we run. It can also be used as a 1:1 sales coaching tool.
